The picture is the wedding of your cousins Emma Spagnuolo and Charles
Caruso.
The wedding is at the Catholic Church in Durand, Michigan where your late Uncle Alfred and Living Aunt Rosaria owned a confectionary store. Emma is their oldest daughter. She was born a twin and they were born in Italy and remained there until Emma was twelve and they returned to the U.S. The twin sister died at birth. Aunt Rosaria and Emma stayed with your great grandparents all throughout the war. Uncle Alfred was living in Lansing and worked at Oldsmobile. Aunt Rosaria did not want to come to the U.S. as she felt that she would be homesick and they ended up staying there because of the war.
My sister Lenore is also in the picture. Also Aunt Rosaria's brothers Paul and Mario Dionise were groomsmen. Paul died at age 19 and Mario was married to Marie Dionise who just passed away. They were Richard Dionise's parents.
They lived in Lansing and you went to school with their children. The oldest Sammy had spinal meningitis as a baby and never matured and died in his teens. The second oldest was Bobby Caruso and graduated with your sister Julie. The third oldest was Julie Caruso and she graduated in 1977 or 1978, the third oldest was Debbie and she graduated in 1979 and last was Nancy Caruso who graduated in 1982 and was married in March of 1983.
The picture shows your dad and Tony Caruso from Dowagiac and your
mother and your cousin Betty DeRose Miller. Also, Madeleine Fabiano of
the Fabiano Candy store and her brother Charles Fabiano. Also your
cousin Pete Spagnuolo was an usher. Your cousins Jerry and Paul
Spagnuolo are ring bearers and they are the youngest brothers of Emma
the bride. Emma's youngest sister was just a baby at the time so of
course she was not in the wedding. The couple is now celebrating their
50th wedding anniversary on April 29th.
Aunt Jane and Uncle Al are celebrating their anniversary this month
also; I believe it is their 28th and Aunt Lenore and Uncle Peter are
celebrating their anniversay this month and I believe it is their 26th
or 27th.
