The Mystical Buddha

An addition to the Buddha collection. This one an authentic antique Bronze one from a Burmese Monastery.

He is gorgeous, acquired from a Malaysian friend whose father was the military attache to the Burmese government in the 1950-60's, and has connections with the not-so-nice Generals that run the country now, known as the SLORC (State Law and Order Restoration Committee). Supposedly, they only allow 250 of these to be exported each year, as they are considered national treasures.

He is about two feet tall and has a lovely aged patina and enigmatic smile on a gentle face that says "peace".
