A Saturday morning bike ride after a fresh rain overnight, with the clouds breaking up for what looks to be a sunny day. An excuse to get a little muddy, riding the horse paths along the Versoix river, splashing through the fresh puddles.

The early snow that fell on the mountains a week ago has all melted, so winter retreats after a false, early entrance, giving it back to fall to dominate the scenery with its vivid color scheme of crimson and yellow leaves.

Here, a large truck of smoking manure passes by on the back-roads outside the village with the Jura in the backdrop. (Click on the photo to see the big version and get the real feeling for it.) When this puppy drove by it left a lingering perfume of country air behind it like you wouldn't believe. I thought, "breath deep, this won't last forever", and bicycled on my way.
