A Sunday bike ride into France. After several days of non-stop rain, it cleared today. The air is fresh with a hint of autumn approaching. After the traditional oysters and eye-opener, and paying way too much for some nice farm cheddar and a brie with truffles at the market cheese stand, it was home again in time to put on some shorts and an afternoon nap.
Yesterday, we had the neighbors over for dinner, and we made a Broccoli Gratin, which was a big hit, and I can recommend that you try it sometime. We had it with baked cod and Provence-roasted blue potatoes. Washed down with a local Pinot Gris. For dessert it was Rhubarb pie and chilled Sauternes. We nicked the rhubarb out of Emmanuel's garden. It was an excellent meal.
Three days left until the LHC fires up. Prepare yee the way!
