A good day out on Sunday with the usual suspects, including Jim, Jeanne, Dominick, Benjamin, Gunther, Lorin and Ben's friend Kevin. We skied in Les Contamines. Down below, the cloud kept things dark, but at 8000 ft it was crystal clear. The last downhill race of the season before the Olympics begin was cancelled yesterday due to the "fog cloud" in Chamonix. It will be interesting to see if Bode Miller can deliver after all his foibles with press.

Les Contamines, like another couple of dozen ski areas are all within a 1-2 hour drive from home, and the season only lasts about 12-14 weeks, so we try to take advantage of it while we are here. Especially, when the weather is cooperating.

It was our first time to ski at Les Contamines. The snow was a bit thin as it has not snowed for awhile. The place would be a lot more interesting with a couple of feet of powder. The black Olympique run was good fun, and we pounded it a good half-a-dozen times.
