A nice Lanier Striper for dinner this weekend! It's all quieting down here now after the excitement of the FLW Cup . We had Mom and Dad, Eddie and Brian and friend's Peter and Tina all here for the week. Matt took 4th place on the co-angler side, and for a couple of days we followed him around in the Scout and his Ranger, watching him fish. Yes! Fishing can be a spectator sport! It was actually really cool. At one point, there were six boats following Matt and his pro Troy Morrow.

This weekend, a front has come in and the tempertaure has dropped with the threat of a soggy weekend. After many days of hot sunny days, it is welcome relief from the heat and humidity. It's a good opportunity to spend some time sorting out all the pictures and video we took.

There's always that vacant feeling one gets after coming out the other end of a much anticipated, big event. So much focus and effort goes into the build up of the event, you stop thinking past it, until it is over and you ask "what's next?". For us, the schedule is pretty empty: just work and school, a trip to Geneva in September, and maybe one to Beijing as well. Other than that, we have Thanksgiving and Christmas ahead. Time to get ready for the big fall topwater Striper bite. Maybe dabble in tying a few of my own flies and work on getting everything perfect on the Scout.
