It's cool, windy and stormy in St Simons, so you have to bundle up to walk along the beach. We had an interesting ride down from Atlanta. We rented a Dodge mini-van and discovered that 6 people with 6 large suitcases and 2 sets of golf clubs were not all going to fit in it. It didn't have roof racks, but we still managed to tie 3 suitcases on top using some rope that we had to run through the windows and inside of the van to tie them down. True "Beverly Hillbillies" style. Then we drove 6 hours and it rained the whole time, soaking the soft-sider suitcases on the roof. There was a little stress in the car to say the least, but we made it, and in the end, could see the humor of the situation, once everything was dried off and Dad got a cocktail in his hand and settled down on the oceanview verandah of our suite.

It is 5am on Tuesday and there is a real big blow coming through today with temps dropping to highs in the mid 50's. Could be a board-game day. Thursday we have a guide taking us out for some fishing, hoping that that the weather will clear up for it.
