Last day of 2008, and it is coming down in G-town. Thank God, as the slopes were in desperate need of some fresh snow. It's oysters and champagne brunch today, with skiing planned for tomorrow.
We all had a good Christmas. My present was a box of 25 Cohiba Esplandido cigars that Dominick picked up at the duty free shop in town using one of his friend's passes. His father is in the secret service here and can buy stuff cheap at the diplomat duty-free shop. On the way home in the tram, Dominick saw a guy getting off the tram and noticed he had the identical bag of cigars...then the realization that he had just jacked them, and they were in fact MY CIGARS! Dominick had the bag sitting on the seat next to him, and this guy picked them up on his way out the tram door, and by the time Dominick realized what was going on, the guy was off the tram and the tram was pulling away from the stop. There was nothing he could do. That's his story anyway....so I had to settle for the fallback plan, which was a box of 10 2005 special edition Montecristo "D"s.
The week has been spent on PC projects. Did heart surgery on an older system, including new motherboard, AMD Athlon X2 Extreme 7750, 4 Gig RAM, 1.5T Sata2 drive, and a 25" monitor. It is the new video editing machine. Benjamin, aka "Speilburg" got theFlip video camera for Christmas. It's pretty cool, and you can expect a video edition of the day's activities later today.
